I think I went a little overboard with the background on this, but it is possibly the most detailed background I have done in a terribly long time.
This picture originally started off with the line art of an anthro-type character, laying down. I'm unsure as to whether or not people noticed her crying, but there it is, she was crying.
My second thought upon working on this picture was that there needed to be a reason for her tears. Everyone-alien species or not-cries for a reason. And then, it hit me...the idea, basis, and background for this image.
I've always been a big fan of space images...of the SciFi genre, whether it is with anime or otherwise, and I've been wanting to draw a picture like that for a while, but I didn't know how to do it.
Allow me to introduce Silune. I haven't yet come up with her species, no name I come up with seems to suit.
All I have figured out so far is that they are humanoid in appearance, have hooves, and large fox-like ears with long tails that have a flowing tuft at the end. I'm not sure if they'll all have these general colorings or not, but yeah...
Enough of my rambling. I'll let you figure it all out on your own.
Utensils: Paint Tool SAI, Photoshop CS5, Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch.
Time: Approximately 10 hours.

The background is good I like it, the only complaint is that her tail starts way too high, it technically should start at where the backbone ends , while fromt he angle on the picture it looks like it is broken and starts above the hip.
